Entire Kitchen Remodeling Krasiva New Island

A complete Kitchen Remodel in Scottsdale

It was the original 1986 kitchen. The dinette table in the breakfast nook gave the impression of a very small kitchen behind it. By substituting the dinette table for a much more versatile bar height island with four stools, now you have a dining area or a food prep area. You also have additional storage space inside the island. The most impressive change in this kitchen remodeling project was that the island now matches the kitchen cabinets and counter tops. So in effect we’ve doubled the depth of the kitchen without removing walls. Notice even the window sills now are granite to match.

Before After Kitchen Remodel By Krasiva

This homeowner was happy with the current layout of the kitchen and the counter tops but did not like the Oak cabinets. You have to look carefully to see the subtle changes. Notice the Oak wood grain in the before pictures, the cabinets in the after pictures are a light stained Cherry. This kitchen remodeling project entailed cabinet refacing to resurface the cabinets with a Cherry veneer. We also changed all the cabinet doors and drawer fronts with solid Cherry. We also installed easy glide soft closers on all cabinet doors and drawers and inserted glass in two of the doors as an accent. Keep in mind cabinet refacing is not always this subtle in the changes that can be obtained. It can be much more dramatic depending on what the homeowner desires in their kitchen remodel.

Lazy Susan Pendulum Style Kitchen Krasiva

A Lazy Susan – Pendulum Style

This type of lazy susan is different from what most people are used to. Instead of being circular and spinning in the corner, it is more oblong and reaches further back into deep corners which provides more storage. Each shelf is rated for 75 lbs. which can hold just about anything you can find in a kitchen. When remodeling a kitchen, this is a great way to get more space out of your cabinet. This can definitely be done with a full cabinet replacement, and depending on your existing cabinets it might be possible with cabinet refacing.

Country Style Kitchen Photos

This is more of a country style kitchen remodel. Hickory cabinets are a favorite to obtain that country style kitchen look. Hickory has one of the most aggressive and random grains. It has very light sections and very dark sections. When you have kitchen cabinets made out of hickory you have to be the type of person that is OK with the unpredictable look of the wood that is used. In other words, you have to love random and chaotic styles for your kitchen remodel, it’s called character.

Complete Kitchen Remodeling Before After

Notice in the before picture the cabinet over the refrigerator is very shallow making it impractical to use and leaves the side of the refrigerator exposed to view. The after picture shows that cabinet is now double depth and much easier to use for storage on top of the fridge. The side cabinet curtain also aids in extending the look of the kitchen. The granite counter tops of course are breathtaking in comparison. The new kitchen cabinets were semi-custom with varying heights and depths. This gives a lot of dimension and richness to the kitchen. This can only be done with full cabinet replacement. It is not possible with a cabinet reface. Cabinet refacing changes the surface but cannot change the size.

Island Granite Storage Opened Krasiva

An island as a dining table and as a storage area

Because the island is at bar height it gives a lot of height inside the island. This is a perfect place for large, tall drawers to hold items that a lot of people just keep in their garage. So after this kitchen remodel these large items are just a few steps away.

Crown Moulding and Elegant Kitchen

The kitchen remodel on the left is utilizing black painted kitchen cabinets but making sure everything else is lighter in the kitchen. Doing this prevents the kitchen from becoming a black hole and provides striking contrast. Notice the granite counter top on the island is different from the rest of the counter tops in this kitchen. You might want to consider this as a option when you remodel your kitchen. The spice drawer on the right is a really neat accessory that can be reused when there is a small amount of space left in a wall. Notice the glass doors on each side. We have virtually an endless variety of glass that can be inserted in to the doors.

Notice we changed the original golden oak cabinetry to a dark cherry and dark swirled granite. In order for this kitchen to not look like a dark hole, we used a light travertine in the back splash, light colors on the walls, ceiling, and flooring. Notice the lighting above the cabinets is amber, and below the cabinets is a blue white for high contrast vision while working one the granite counter top. Combining the light and the dark gives this kitchen a lot of contrast.

Before and After Cabinet Refacing Krasiva

A minor Kitchen Remodeling project in Phoenix

This homeowner was happy with the layout of the kitchen, the flooring, the tile counter tops, and the wallpaper, but the kitchen cabinets were from the 1960’s. The homeowner did want to update them and change the wood species to Oak. We removed the tile counter tops so we could get at the cabinets. Then replaced the cabinets with new Oak cabinets and laid new tile on top of the new cabinets. Inside the kitchen cabinets we also installed easy close doors and drawers.

New Pantry Cabinet Replacement

The difference between Cabinet Replacement and Cabinet Refacing

Notice the cabinet over the refrigerator, and the pantry to the far right side of the before picture. This is a perfect example of the difference between cabinet replacement, and cabinet refacing. In the after picture, the look of the pantry cabinet on the right could have been duplicated with cabinet refacing or cabinet replacement. (Including the crown moulding at the top.) In the after picture, the look of the cabinet over the refrigerator could not have been duplicated with cabinet refacing because it is actually 1 ft. deeper than the original cabinet.

New Pantry Cabinet Replacement Open Closed

This picture displays the pantry cabinet in both the closed and open positions

The old cabinet had only shelves inside. In this kitchen remodel, we incorporated shelves at the top and large roll out drawers in the bottom. These drawers are rated for 70 lbs. of weight. They roll out to a full extension beyond the cabinet to make it easy to reach things in the back. And if you tried to slam them shut, they’re equipped with easy-close guides that close softly. Notice the 3 1/2 inch crown moulding at the top of the cabinets. We used a black crown with a light cherry Aztec band in the center of the crown to draw the eye towards the crown. This gives the optical illusion of extending the cabinets upward for a more grand appearance.

The picture on the left displays a more Copenhagen style contemporary kitchen. Inserting darker cabinets with lighter cabinets adds an extra dimension to a kitchen remodel and breaks up the monotony. The photo on the right shows cabinets, flooring, wall paint, everything of a similar color which makes it look much more simple.

Kitchen Remodeling Varying Cabinet Colors

Notice the kitchen on the left, all the cabinets and ceiling are light and you pick up a little bit of contrast with the flooring. Notice the kitchen to the right has very dark flooring and medium cherry cabinets with painted white cabinets inserted as accents. The white cabinet over the sink even has medium cherry crown moulding. This kitchen is very unique. We hope you consider all of the unique small touches that can be incorporated into your kitchen remodeling project. We can help you utilize all these small touches to incorporate a part of you into your new kitchen.
